Forsyth Fire Escape started in 2021 during the COVID pandemic as a fun and safe way for Isabel Lee and Luis Fernandez to bring their community together by lowering handmade scallion pancake burritos in a bucket off of their fire escape. Celebrating the beauty of their Chinese, Thai, and Dominican cultures, as well as their spirited California upbringing, their signature Scallion Pancake Burrito features Slow Roasted Peril, Fried Queso Blanco, Guacamole & Lemongrass Chili Crisp Oil. When the duo received praise and media attention, their landlord served a cease and desist letter as a means to stop operations. In true spirit of community, Isabel and Luis partnered with their local bodega and continued to serve their take out burritos to a sold out crowd each week.
